Esther's particular strengths are her creative vision and a clear-minded, holistic approach, working closely with clients and their curatorial and education teams to develop innovative, well-planned, articulate and engaging collections-based exhibitions.
The many award winning projects that Esther has delivered for Event include Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and the Riverside Museum, both in Glasgow, London’s Royal Institution, Robert Burns Birthplace Museum, M-Shed in Bristol, Clore Interactive Gallery at Manchester City Art Gallery and the Commandery in Worcester. Esther led the Masterplan for the redevelopment of the Burrell Collection in Glasgow as well as for the Polytechnic Museum in Moscow where she directed the design development of the permanent exhibitions.
Time and again, Esther has offered proof of her capacity to creatively lead, plan, manage and coordinate complex museum projects, making a critical contribution to their success. She ensures the design concept is fully realised and every detail earns its keep. An excellent design manager, Esther has wide experience in base-build interfaces, exhibition procurement and content monitoring. Esther is particularly skilled at steering major projects through their myriad challenges and ensuring clients’ aspirations are fully realised in the final product.
Esther was appointed Creative Director of Event in April 2008 to lead the creative outputs of the design studio.
