Not One but Two EMYA Accolades

Two Event clients were rewarded for their strong vision and hard work at the European Museum Forum conference last week. Riverside: Scotland’s Museum of Transport and Travel was named European Museum of the Year. And the Scheepvaart Museum in Amsterdam was highly commended.

Event was involved in the transformation of the Glasgow Museum of Transport from the outset, delivering the initial Masterplan, designing the exhibition and directing its installation over five years of intense collaboration.

At the Scheepvaart Museum, Event designed two family oriented galleries. See you in the Golden Age which draws inspiration from the wonderful art of the 17th century Netherlands and Port 24/7 which reconnects the city of Amsterdam with its contemporary port.

Event was also at the Museum + Heritage Awards, where we were nominated in the sustainability and permanent exhibition categories, for the Crystal and Titanic Belfast respectively. We are thrilled that Titanic was highly commended and won the Trading and Enterprise award. And congratulations to the William Morris Gallery in Walthamstow, worthy winners of the permanent exhibition award. (It is a personal favourite – I remember ‘helping’ my dad to put on student and staff art exhibitions there as a kid).

The week continued well with Titanic Belfast being awarded Overall Winner and Winner – non-retail – at the National Association of Shopfitters and Interior Contractors Awards.

And finally congratulations to Event Client M-Shed who has been longlisted for this year’s the Telegraph Family Friendly Museum Award.
