Designs for the Opportunity Pavilion Released - Event and Cox
Following an international competition Event was appointed to curate the experience for the Opportunity Pavilion - one of the three themed pavilions for Dubai EXPO 2020. The 4,500 square metre pavilion — designed by Australia-based Cox Architecture and curated by UK company Event Communications — will also feature a spiral-shaped canopy made from 111 kilometres of woven rope.
Great to see the designs released following months of hard work by the EXPO team, Event Communications and Cox Architects.
The Opportunity Pavilion will empower millions of visitors from around the world to play their own role in human development. Her Excellency Reem Al Hashimy, UAE Minister of State for International Cooperation and Director General, Dubai Expo 2020 Bureau, said: “Expo 2020 Dubai will bring the world together, encouraging people to share and explore ideas that will contribute to further human development. The Opportunity Pavilion is the ideal platform to enable every participant, partner and visitor to learn how they can make positive changes.”
Visitors will be encouraged to explore how individual choices and actions can make a positive, collective contribution to global causes - specifically the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals - through an engaging and interactive journey that will feature decision-making and gaming components.
