Titanic Belfast Wins Best Visitor Attraction at the 2015 European Group Travel Awards
Another coup for Titanic Belfast as it took home Best Visitor Attraction at the inaugural European Group Travel Awards 2015! Titanic beat out some stalwart classics such as the Eiffel Tower, Monet’s Garden and the London Eye. It’s another feather in the cap for an attraction that has quickly earned its ‘world-class’ moniker.
“This is a fantastic endorsement for Titanic Belfast by our peers in the travel industry, and reflects the immense work which our staff have put into making sure that Titanic Belfast is geared to meet the specific needs of group travel,” said Titanic Belfast CEO Tim Husbands.
Event Communications is proud to have been involved in the delivery of this project – working on exhibition design and interpretation from the initial Masterplan through to completion in 2012. Titanic Belfast celebrates the city’s shipbuilding and industrial heritage, placing the story of Titanic at its heart. Original drawings and records for the Titanic still exist, and contemporary technology brings this archival material to life through nine episodic galleries – from Boomtown Belfast, through to Titanic’s genesis, demise and rediscovery.
Titanic is on a run right now - having recently won the THEA Award for Outstanding Achievement, the Winstan Bond Trophy and Best Permanent Exhibition at the 2014 Museums + Heritage Awards; as well as having been nominated for the European Museum of the Year Award 2015.
