Esther Dugdale

Esther is known in our studio for her creative vision and clear-minded approach. As one of our creative directors, Esther champions audience-centred design, challenges our thinking and pushes our creativity. She brings a deep understanding of the practical issues that can make or break projects, from visitor flow to buildability.

Esther joined us in 1994 and, since then, has headed up a long list of our award-winning projects including the Burrell Collection, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and the Riverside Museum, which was named European Museum of the Year. Her strengths lie in masterplanning and leading large-scale, complex projects including, most recently, the Hong Kong Museum of History and Eden Qingdao – a 42-hectare, £150 million extension of the Eden Project into China.
