The Landscape of Early Human History

Archaeolink Prehistory Park

In the hills and forests of rural Aberdeenshire, Archaeolink tells the archaeological story of a remarkable landscape.

Interpretation unlocks the secrets of the environment and invites visitors to travel back through time. A series of installations based on local excavations enables visitors to experience a Hunter-Gatherer encampment complete with a wood and hide “bender” hut. Elsewhere, visitors encounter the Neolithic age with its mighty stone circles, henges and burial Cairns, as well as an Iron Age roundhouse and working farmstead.
