More Than the Sum of The Parts

British Museum, Great Court Exhibition

Prior to its introduction into the visitor realm Sir Robert Smirke’s magnificent Greek Revival courtyard at the heart of the British Museum had been described as one of the lost spaces of London.

Hidden from public view for many years, it was brought back to life by the Great Court Scheme, a landmark millennium project designed by Sir Norman Foster.

Architect’s drawings, models, original materials and time-relapse film all played a part in a beautiful exhibition which presented this project to British Museum visitors.
