Tales of Ljubljana

City Museum of Ljubljana

Set in the centre of Slovenia’s medieval capital, the City Museum is housed in the Auersperg Palace - a building with centuries of architectural and historical heritage.

Event’s brief was to develop a European Museum of the 21st century to showcase Ljubljana’s history and culture and stand as a contemporary symbol of the self-confidence of the Slovenian capital.

Impressive collections major on social history and fine art and reflect the city as a centre of municipal power. The concept of Faces of Ljubljana woven through fourteen galleries highlights the view that every object presents a face of the city, whether through representation or personal connections.
