Scott's First Voyage

Discovery Point

HMS Discovery, the ship in which Captain Scott made his first historic voyage to the Antarctic, was built in Dundee and returned there by the National Maritime Museum to form the centerpiece of Discovery Point.

HMS Discovery lies in wet dock alongside the visitor attraction and forms an integral part of the visit. A variety of media, including showcase displays, film, robotics, graphics and a memorable multimedia show, bring to life the characters from this great adventure story, not least the ship herself.

A major mixed media presentation combines archive and commissioned large format cinematic imagery with a dramatic reveal of a large scale model of HMS Discovery.
