Revealing the Inner Earth

Power Within, Natural History Museum

Event designed Power Within, the first of the Earth Science Galleries, with the aim of involving visitors in the unseen processes of the inner earth.

Geology is presented as a living science that has vital things to say about the way we exploit the Earth and its resources. Great use is made of the museum’s extensive collections so that the public can see and, whenever possible, handle geological specimens.

The activities of today’s geologists are emphasised throughout, so that visitors appreciate current research interests. A hands-on laboratory is available where visitors can examine specimens and talk to knowledgeable staff.
