Playwrights and Poets
In a museum of ‘word and spirit’ where the works of the writers take centre-stage, the design approach was informed by the authors’ imaginative worlds and explores what inspired them to write as they did.
An introductory gallery establishes that the spoken word is at the root of the Kerry literary tradition, while the Landscape Room explores the influence the physical landscape has on the vision and imagination of Kerry writers.
Subsequent galleries are each devoted to the lives and works of local writers Bryan MacMahon, John B. Keane, Brendan Kennelly, Maurice Walsh and Gabriel Fitzmaurice.
