Rebuilt and Proud

Uppark, the perfect 17th century country house in Sussex owned by the National Trust, burned down in 1989. The house has since been rebuilt as a flagship project to demonstrate the National Trust's expertise in conservation and restoration.

Event created the exhibition which tells the story of the fire and Uppark’s subsequent restoration in order to celebrate the Trust’s Centenary Year. The varied and complex skills required to recreate a house of this importance are all demonstrated and explored.
