Our masterplans have provided the development roadmaps for some of the world’s most acclaimed institutions. Whether it be a brand new building or a major renewal programme, we set the guide rails for the capital programmes to follow. We articulate the vision, explore the opportunities and determine the constraints. We evaluate facilities, collections and operations and examine capacity, flow and logistics through front and back of house areas. We look at phasing and interfaces, develop design briefs and run architectural competitions.

We believe in the power of stories to make memories and shape identity. The experiences we create have narrative at their core – designed ‘inside out’ from the choices visitors make and the journeys they take. Our content designers are a core part of our creative team, undertaking the classic processes of interpretive planning – defining audience needs and creating the themes, messages and storylines that carry the meaning in each project – and acting as critical catalysts in the triangle between audiences, experts and designers.

We understand the importance of a robust proposition in building stakeholder confidence and gaining funding support. We have supported dozens of organisations in navigating the processes of securing investment capital from bodies ranging from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to grant-making foundations to corporate boards. We help with consultation and the planning process, and we produce prospectuses and visualisations that build energy behind ideas.

From day one, our project managers share and advise on areas of opportunity and risk – optimising one while reducing the other. They help our clients make cost savings and provide ongoing advice through the procurement process. They are the critical interface between base build and exhibition, managing the complex integration of specialist suppliers and contractors over production and installation.

Delivering an exhibition is no mean feat – there are varying lead times for individual works packages and a complex relationship with base build. Construction Management, through a skilled and experienced practitioner, is an effective way to maximise on quality and optimise on cost.

Our construction managers programme and manage both information flow and the procurement process for clients. They handle everything from appointing contractors, producing contract documents, preparing budget breakdowns, cost reports and cash flow projections to certifying contractor valuations for client payment, approving works and issuing certificates.
