Reflecting on the EMYA2025 conference
Reflecting on a powerful three days at EMYA2025 (European Museum Forum) in Białystok, Poland.
From thought-provoking panel discussions and urgent conversations about the future of museums to the celebration of inspiring projects and individuals across Europe – the conference was a powerful reminder of the importance of solidarity, bravery and creativity in the face of complex challenges.
As Abby Coombs, our Co-MD and Head of Creative Services, shared: “The last few days at the EMYA conference in Białystok have been a powerful clash of contrasts… I was left considering that bravery might be the best trait for museums to cultivate, as Léontine Meijer-van Mensch quoted Kenneth Hudson – ‘a good museum is not afraid of controversy’.”
Congratulations to all of this year’s incredible winners – including Manchester Museum – whose work continues to inspire across the sector. A special mention to the Carl Nielsen Museum, whose collaboration with our Event team was a true highlight and a joy to see celebrated at the conference.
