Excellence in exhibition design

Our work at The Box, Plymouth, has been shortlisted for the Exhibition Design award at the 2021 Design Week awards. Design Week celebrates excellence in design across exhibitions, graphics, branding, product, digital and many other sectors.

Full of unexpected juxtapositions

We began working with The Box at masterplan stage and saw the project through to completion. We envisioned The Box as a space that deliberately blurs the boundaries between learning spaces, social spaces and museum spaces. The result is brimming with unexpected juxtapositions of objects and stories. Places to sit, study and socialise are found alongside displays; find local family histories next to extraordinary stories of maritime journeys that have changed the world. Standout moments include an immersive Port Model, an abstracted model of the Mayflower ship and an installation of 1,200 portraits of descendants from the Mayflower’s famous voyage.

Congratulations to everyone involved.

A true genius of works and technical design - but with real flair.
