Museum of the History of the Polish Jews Building Opens in Warsaw
The Museum of the History of Polish Jews’ striking new building welcomed visitors for the first time on April 20th, 2013.
Event Communications worked closely with the POLIN Museum of the History of the Polish Jews team from the masterplanning stage through detailed design. We were part of the selection committee that chose Finnish architect Rainer Mahlamäki’s proposals for the new building and we are thrilled to see the designs come to fruition on this significant site.
The area where the Museum is located became part of the Warsaw Ghetto, where Warsaw’s Jewish population was confined by Poland’s German occupiers during the Second World War. The history of Poland’s Jews will be explored in the Event-designed core exhibition, currently under construction. The galleries will present 1000 years of Jewish presence in Poland and will open to the public around the end of the year. In the meantime, the Museum will be running a programme of cultural and educational events in its new building.
