Transforming local heritage into a sustainable landmark of international significance.
We were commissioned to develop an interpretative masterplan to transform Iolaire Community Centre into an iconic waterside attraction. Rooted in local need, financially sustainable and with international reach, the new centre will drive Iolaire’s harbourside regeneration.
Community Engagement
For the masterplan, we engaged Iolaire’s residents in breadth and depth to understand local nuance and enrich stakeholders’ strategic ambitions. We prioritised engagement with people whose support creates a ripple effect across the community. Our workshops and consultations involved local artists, schools for students with special educational needs, tourism boards, and local attractions.
Building trust, shaping value and creating a world-class experience for all.
The resulting conversations established trust and laid the foundations for social value work that underpins the centre’s new mission our and interpretive approach. We also undertook extensive benchmarking and later tested our proposals against stakeholder feedback. Our methods ensure that the new centre will not only attract tourists but also resonate with locals, delivering a world-class experience for the island.
